Who issues the GAP certificate?

Which activities fall under GAP?

Scopes such as crop production, livestock production and aquaculture; individual producers and producer groups.

Are GAP and organic agriculture the same thing?

Does VORCETT currently offer services in this programme?

No. This programme is in preparation at VORCETT; no service is offered until the relevant authorisation, recognition or approval processes are complete.

What is the main purpose of GAP?

The Regulation on Good Agricultural Practices sets rules aimed at production that does not harm the environment or human and animal health, protection of natural resources, traceability and sustainability in agriculture, and a reliable product supply.

The GAP system focuses not only on the end product but on recording the production process and checking it against defined criteria. In Türkiye the system runs through authorised control and certification bodies, with scopes such as crop production, livestock production and aquaculture.

Role of 17065
Under the Regulation on Good Agricultural Practices, control and certification are carried out by the Ministry or by bodies it authorises. Authorised bodies must be accredited to TS EN ISO/IEC 17065 or an equivalent standard within two years of their first authorisation; authorisation is granted for two-year periods.
